Meet The Team
Real coaches. Real experience. Supportive and focused.
Our team brings together strength coaches, rehab specialists, and wellness practitioners who are genuinely passionate about helping you achieve your goals. Each team member is carefully selected not just for their qualifications, but for their commitment to the Strength Culture philosophy

Founder & Head Coach
Tayla
Tayla founded Strength Culture based on a simple belief: strength training should be accessible, purposeful, and life-changing for everyone.
With a background in strength coaching and a passion for helping people unlock their potential, Tayla specializes in working with clients who want to build real, functional strength—whether they're returning from injury, chasing performance goals, or simply wanting to feel stronger and more confident in their bodies.
Her approach is rooted in education, progression, and meeting each client exactly where they are. Tayla believes that the best training programs aren't just about what happens in the gym—they're about building habits, mindset, and physical resilience that enhance every aspect of life.

Strength Coach & Massage Therapist
Laura
Laura combines strength coaching with massage therapy to deliver a truly comprehensive service — supporting clients through both their training and their recovery.
With experience working with disabilities and higher-needs clients, Laura is skilled at adapting training to suit individual circumstances, ensuring everyone can train safely, effectively, and with confidence.
Her integrated approach means clients benefit from hands-on soft tissue work alongside structured programming, helping them move better, recover faster, and build strength that lasts.

Strength & Nutrition Coach
Tania
Tania brings over 10 years of experience helping clients rehabilitate from injury, improve body composition, and achieve a wide range of health and performance goals.
Her coaching is grounded in a practical, sustainable approach that meets each client where they are — whether that means returning to training after a setback, building confidence in the gym for the first time, or chasing a specific body composition target.
Tania believes that consistency and education are the keys to lasting results, and she's passionate about empowering her clients with the knowledge and tools they need to train for life.

Physio & Massage Therapist
Joanne
Joanne is an ACC accredited physiotherapist and massage therapist, bringing clinical rehabilitation and hands-on soft tissue therapy together under the one roof at Strength Culture.
Her physiotherapy work centres on accurate assessment, hands-on treatment, and a clear plan forward — whether you're recovering from an injury, managing a long-standing niggle, or wanting to move and train without restriction. ACC accredited means eligible injuries can be treated without a referral and with reduced cost to you.
Alongside her physio practice, Joanne's sports and deep tissue massage supports recovery between sessions, so clients get treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery care from the same practitioner.
Our Physiotherapist

Physiotherapist
Matt
Matt is a physiotherapist at The Sports Clinic Nelson, and also runs a clinic right here out of Strength Culture Richmond — so you can access expert physio care without leaving the gym.
His approach begins with a thorough interview and movement-based exam to provide an accurate diagnosis, followed by clear education about your condition and a progressive, individualised rehabilitation plan developed together with you — so you can bounce back higher and stronger following injury.
Matt works with people of all ages and activity levels — not just athletes. Whether you're dealing with an everyday ache, a workplace or lifestyle injury, recovering from surgery, or chasing a return-to-performance goal, his physio is applicable to any population and tailored to what you need.
